Output varies because when instructions are inconsistent or underspecified, Lovable (a chat-first, stateful editor) and the underlying model fill gaps differently each time — they make implicit assumptions, choose defaults, and rely on changing conversation context, which produces different results.

 

Why this happens

 

  • Underspecified requirements: If you don’t tell Lovable the exact file to change, the API/behavior expected, or the shape of the output, the assistant will choose one of many valid interpretations and that choice can differ across runs.
  • Conflicting or shifting instructions: Later messages that contradict earlier ones create ambiguity. The model may honor different parts of the conversation on different attempts.
  • Context and history dependence: Lovable’s chat state is sequential. Long histories can be truncated or weighted differently, so important constraints earlier in the conversation can be lost or deprioritized.
